About this stay
Imagine living in a little mobile home with a veranda, surrounded by cork oak trees, with a herd of horses roaming freely across 50 hectares of land. A peaceful, secluded setting, around 20 minutes from the beaches. The accommodation has a kitchen, shower with hot water, compost toilet and electricity. Pets: I have a 15 year old Border Collie, who is still fit and vital, although a little deaf. I have a queen cat Lima who trains Dakota to behave very well. And I have 5 horses and a donkey who graze and roam freely over a large area of 20 hectares. Beyond that, there are also some stray cats I feed on the farm. Care instructions: I'm planning to travel for 3–4 months this winter and am looking for a responsible animal lover to stay on my land in rural Portugal while I'm away. The horses live naturally as a herd, so this isn't a conventional horse-care job. There's no mucking out, grooming, riding or training required. The main tasks are occasional water checks and refills, feeding the dog and cats, and keeping an eye on all the animals. I'm looking for someone who is comfortable around horses, responsible, and appreciates nature, simplicity and a slower pace of life.
